Did my school photographer imply that I was ugly?

So,I took my senior pictures today because I missed it earlier last year. i came to the school auditorium where the pictures were being held,and took my hair out of my bun to take my picture. Then when he took it he saw it and was like "...Wow." in a really shocked surprised tone. I saw the picture and it came out really nice,but was he implying I ws gross and not photogenic enough to take a good picture? Because it felt like it.
